The Proper Palazzo Pant Guide

Lets first get out of the way the question of "What exactly are Palazzo Pants?" Most People confuse the #Palazzo with the equally drapey Gaucho Pant. (Which is the half calf version of the Palazzo, fyi). While they are both in the normal realm of the fashion world a lot of people do not know how to properly style themselves in these full-length wide width banger of a bottom. #theJOLENE

The Jolene Palazzo Pant from 516 Stitch is showing the perfect blend of all the Palazzo "rules". She has a beautiful elastic ruched high waist. Draped in lightweight and airy fabric. The Hem is just whispering to the floor and tippy toes. Loose from the waist to the hem. The perfect Palazzo with pleated fabric giving you an #elegant, #classy, and #Posh #style.

Working our way around the Palazzo, the design of these pants are made with a super wide width hip to leg opening along with an extended leg length. (Careful, Don't Trip! Watch for perfect sewing at the hemline if you choose to step out in heels. If you are not careful, you will squeal as you catch your heel. Hope you do not go tumbling down Penn Station's Stairs on 7th Ave. ((Yep, Arm Raised...))

The cut of these pants flare out from the waistline. They are worn as a SUPER LOOSE fit usually in a SUPER LIGHT fabric. Your expensive high end Palazzo pants will be crafted in beautiful Silks, Crepe, and the softest Linens of the lands. Then down to earth you will see your ready to wear Palazzo's in Polyester, Poly Blends, Cotton Blends, etc. All light weight loose knit.

You can find this #classic version of the Palazzo with the sleak #Pinstripes at 516 Stitch. These ultra soft pair are The Danica . She comes in two versions and several different colorways. Stripes and solids. With sizes from Ladies to the

Women's #5XL.

So keep your eyes open for some great Palazzo styles coming out this spring. Now lets get into the deep conversation of #FIT and Styling Proportionately for your body type.

The usual high waist with front pleats makes for a more gathered and professional look and with more fabric gives the legs a more gathered skirt look. Adding side pockets for a final touch.

Now, unlike the never dyeing bell-bottom, which are tight at the hips then flare out from the knee, the palazzo has a comfortable loose easy breezy cut from the waist to the hemline. Giving a more cooling effect in the hot summer months.

These pants can flatter but quickly flunder depending on your body height and shape. Most of the time the taller women get the best look from the palazzo as too much extra drag of fabric on the floor is not flattering on a petite slender woman. A BIG NO NO!!!

When trying to pair these pants with proper proportions it can get tricky. The most important rule is to BUY YOUR SIZE! These pants are styled to be flowy and loose. Going up a size is even better to get the right look, as you will most likely be pairing them with a tucked in tank or tee. When paired with the perfect top and the correct waist size most women can find a good pair of Palazzo's for an amazing look. Remember high waisted pants are definitely the best choice for all women in the Palazzo.

***NO***

Both of these styles are not great for these body types. The waistline should be LOOSE NOT hugging your hips at all. Remember go up a size or two to get the right look for the Palazzo Pant.

For our Plus size women, some great tips to hit the look. High waistlines. Smaller waistband heights. Elastic or tie closures would look best. Make sure your hips and waist a comfortable and the fabric is loose in these areas. Look for long thin stripe patterns. This will help elongate your waistline along with the added length of the pant. Even better when paired with a wedge heel. Ladies you can then easily pair your bottom with a crisp tucked in tee or tank. Grab a light short jacket for a more professional look.
